Today the FDA and CDC are lifting the consumer advisory not to eat romaine lettuce. Shipments of Romaine lettuce products are expected to resume immediately from new growing regions. We expect a 2-3 week time frame for supplies to catch back up with demand.
Lowes Foods is aware of the recent CDC advisory that all romaine lettuce may be linked to some cases of E. coli illness nationally. While a recall has not been issued at this time, in an abundance of caution, Lowes Foods is voluntarily removing all products possibly impacted by this advisory from store shelves. Food safety is our highest priority and we recommend you not eat romaine lettuce until more is known about the source of the contaminated lettuce and the status of the outbreak.
